Jeremy Thomas Camp (born January 12, 1978) is an American contemporary music singer and songwriter from Lafayette, Indiana. Camp has released eleven albums, four of which are RIAA certified as Gold, and two live albums. The original music was a mix of ballads and high tempo with rock influences. Camp has won five Dove GMA Awards, has been nominated for three American Music Awards, and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Gospel/Contemporary Album of 2010 for his album, Speaking Louder Than Before.

Jeremy Camp was born in Lafayette, Indiana. His father Tom, pastor at Harvest Chapel (associated with Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa, CA), taught him how to play the guitar. After finishing high school, Camp attended an Assemblies of God college in Southern California for two years and then earned a bachelor's degree in theology from Calvary Chapel Bible College. After one of the worship leaders heard him play in the school kitchen, he urged Camp to be part of the worship team. Soon he leads worship and plays throughout Southern California.

Camp has scored 32 Number 1 hits on Christian Radio in all formats (Hit Contemporary Radio, Hot AC, Rock, and Inspirational Charts). Her album, Beyond Measure , contributed her first six hits. 1, including the song "Let It Fade" which holds number 1 for 10 weeks on Radio AC. Camp has spent 175 weeks total in No. 1 in various formats in his career to date. His first single was "Understanding". He has made ten music videos: "Understanding", "Walk By Faith", "Take You Back", "Tonight", "Give You Glory", "Let It Fade", "I Am Willing" (songs that do not belong in one of his albums), "Speaking Louder Than Before", "The Way", and "Reckless". He also has videos for several songs on YouTube and GodTube. He has also released a DVD, In24 , which tells of regular days on the tour, and often keeps his fans updated on his tour with Blog Tour through his YouTube channel. Live Unplugged from Franklin, TN also included a concert DVD, which was recorded for a live album. He has also scored a music number, "This Man", and his videos can be viewed on YouTube. This video was made with a clip from the movie The Passion of the Christ .
2005
Camp scored top Christian music for "Take You Back" and "Lay Down My Pride". She was also voted Best Male Artist at the 2005 readers' Choice Music Awards in the magazine Christianity Today . Camp is also the 2005 ASCAP Songwriter of the Year and won the Dove Award for Best Male Vocalist for the second year in a row. In 2005 he recorded the song "Open Up Your Eyes" for the music compilation release Inspired by Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe , a September 2005 album containing original songs that written by various Christian artists for the 2005 film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and Wardrobe . Camp closes the year with both Stay and Brought Me: Worship Project becomes RIAA-certified as Gold.
2006
Camp won top honors at the ASCAP Annual Music Awards Twenty-eight, winning the Award of the Year Award ("Take You Back" and "This Man") awards. "Take You Back" also gave him the Song Of The Year award. Camp won two of the 2006 CCM Reader's Choice Awards, for Favorite Artist and Favorite Male Artist. She took part in the Dove award for the Special Events Album of the Year, which went to Music Inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and Wardrobe . He released a special edition of his hit album, Restored . Four new songs are included in Restored: Deluxe Gold Edition as well as letters to his fans.
Camp back to the studio to record Beyond Measure in the spring. The album was released on October 31, 2006. Camp was also credited as a producer for his wife's album entitled Do not Wait , released in September 2006.
2007: Beyond Measure
"Tonight", the first single from the album Beyond Measure, was released in mid-August, and finally reached No. 1 on contemporary Christian hit radio. This is the 11th most-played single on HR station in 2007. "Give Me Jesus," the third single from "Beyond Measure," made it into the top 5 on Inspirational radio. The fourth single, "Give You Glory," debuted on Jewish AJ radio in No. 1. 16. The song "Let It Fade" was the seventh most played song on HR radio in 2007. That year she also released two discs (CDs and DVDs) for her Live Unplugged concert tour recorded in Franklin, Tennessee
2008-2009: Speak Loud Than Before
The song "No Matter What" is the 4th most-played song on R & amp; R magazine Christian CHR chart for 2008. She also came out with her new studio album Speaking Louder Than Before , containing the hit hit single "There Will Be a Day". On November 17, 2009, Camp released another live album, titled Jeremy Camp Live . This album features songs from all albums to date. His Talking Harsher From Before received his first Grammy nomination.
2010: We Cry
Beyond Measure is certified as Gold by RIAA. The We Cry Out worship album was released on August 24, 2010.
Camp also became a jury for the 10th annual Independent Music Awards to support the career of independent artists.
On May 20, 2011, Camp released his first book, I Still Believe . This book is about the life of the Camp, illuminating his childhood, the death of his first wife, and where he believed God had brought him.
On March 13, 2012, Camp released the largest collection of hits entitled I Still Believe: The Number Ones Collection . The album includes 15 number one songs, as well as previously unreleased songs titled "Wait".
Christmas: God With Us was released on September 25, 2012. The album was produced by Brown Bannister.
Reckless was released on February 12, 2013. This is Camp's first studio album since 2008, when she released Speaking Louder Than Before . The first single released from the album is the title track, "Reckless". A video accompanies the single in February 2013. "Reckless" was followed by their second single "My God", which reached number 5 on the Christian Song Ladder. He also released the acoustic video "My God" to VEVO Channel in 2013.
Camp released their eighth studio album, I Will Follow , on February 3, 2015. The album's main single, "He Knows", was released in September 2014.
2017-present: The answer
Camp released their eleventh studio album, The Answer , on October 6, 2017.
The album's main single, "Word of Life", was released in June 2017.
Personal life
Camp and his first wife, Melissa Lynn Henning-Camp (born October 7, 1979), married on October 21, 2000. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and died on February 5, 2001, when she was 23 years old and she was 21 years old. Some songs initially reflect the emotional trials of his illness. "I Still Believe" was the first song he wrote after his death. "Walk by Faith" was written during their honeymoon.
On December 15, 2003, he married Adrienne Liesching, a former frontwoman for The Benjamin Gate. They have two daughters and one son: Isabella "Bella" Rose Camp (born September 25, 2004), Arianne "Arie" Mae Camp (born April 5, 2006), and Egan Thomas Camp (born August 17, 2011). In 2009 the couple announced that they were expecting a child, but the pregnancy ended with a miscarriage after three months. The camp is also an ordained minister.
The camp is not related to fellow Christian musician, Steve Camp.
