Histori

With regard to Draiman being a singer for the band, Donegan said, "After a minute or two, he just started banging the enormous melody... I played my guitar and I smiled broadly from ear to ear, trying not to give it that I liked people this, you know, because I do not want to, you know... [said] 'Yeah, we'll call you back. We'll, you know, discuss it.'But I'm so sensitive.Change my backbone.I'm like,' There something here. ' "When drummer Mike Wengren commented," We immediately clicked the bat. "Draiman then joined the band in 1996 and the band changed its name to Disturbed. When asked in an interview why he advised to name the band "Disturbed," Draiman said, "It is a name I have reflected on for a band over the years It seems to symbolize all that we felt at the time, the degree of conformity that people were forced to bothers us and we just try to push the envelope and the name just kinda makes sense. Music styles, influences, and lyrical themes

Classified as a heavy metal or hard rock band, Disturbed is also considered by some critics as nu metal and alternative metal. When asked about heavy metal heavy fans who did not find the Disturbed heavy enough, Draiman at one time stated:

"We may have too much melody going on or we're not too choppy or pitched. While I really like that kind of music, that's not what we're trying to do.If we have to put things in context, we're more hard rock than heavy metal lately.

The secret is that we never really become part of a particular trend, even though we definitely benefit from the popularity of so-called nu-metal at the time... We have never had the stereotypical attributes that the bands possessed. We do not rap; no turntables involved; there is no fusion in that. We play, in my opinion, classical metal. Sabbath, Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Pantera: this is the band that made us want to play. "

Allmusic reviewer Bradley Torreano described the Believe album as "taking a leap that their heroes in Soundgarden and Pantera made after their breakthrough record". He also described the title of the song as moving "from the brutal blast to the chorus that suddenly stopped in its path and turned into a twisted riff that reminded the vintage work of James Hetfield". Believe is also considered by some critics to be a step up from the sound of nu metal featured on The Sickness, moving toward the sound of hard rock and heavy metal that continues on their next album.

According to frontman David Draiman in the band's home documentary M.O.L. , the lyrics he wrote were inspired by his own actual experience, and he stated that he likes to present his ideas with faint lyrics. These lyrical themes range from Jewish-Hell and Hell concepts, domestic violence, suicide, madness, relationships, wars, to fantasy-like themes, such as vampires, werewolves, and demons.

They often refer to their influence as Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Metallica, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Queensryche, Nirvana, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden.

Guitarist Dan Donegan uses guitar tuning Drop C, Drop C # and Drop B (also sometimes Eb), which is a lower barrel than the usual E standard. This low tuning allows for heavier voice and faster chord changes in Donegan riffs. Donegan also uses delicate electronic effects, the rest is referred to as "The Danny Donegan Orchestra".
