In USA Today , Brian Mansfield rated the album three and a half stars out of four, commenting that his release "is a good series of country songs because you will hear all the years." Stephen Thomas Erlewine rated the album three and a half stars from five, observing how "Perhaps the album could use a song that drew your attention from the throat, but it was strong and silently persuasive, its power sounded clearer and bolder with each listening."
