Barry Dean (born c. 1967) is a productive country and pop music writer based in Nashville, Tennessee. Many believe that he is currently among the most talented songwriters in the United States. Until now, Dean has written three No. singles. 1 with "Pontoon" (Little Big Town), and "Big Drinking" and "Think a Little Less" (Michael Ray), along with the Top 40 being hit with "Girls Chase Boys" (Ingrid Michaelson) and the list the length of another songwriting success for his name.
Dean has written several radio hit songs including Jason Aldean "1994," Brothers Osborne "Rum," Hunter Hayes' "Tattoo," Toby Keith "Drink After Work," Martina McBride "God Will" and Tim McGraw's current single, "Diamond Rings and Old Barstools. "Single great success Ingrid Michaelson marked Dean's first single on the Pop charts. "Girls Chase Boys" landed at No. 6 on Billboard Hot Air Conditioner and No. 21 on the Top 40 chart. In the last decade, Dean has had songs recorded by Jason Aldean, Charlotte Church, Billy Currington, Brett Eldredge, Hunter Hayes, Toby Keith, Alison Krauss, Big Town, Reba McEntire, Jake Owen, Thomas Rhett, LeAnn Rimes, Carrie Underwood and more.
